GLOW2With the celebration of June and Pride Month, BBA’s GLOW group wraps up a powerful and productive year with Gloria Steinem. GLOW (Gay Lesbian or Whatever) is the schools QSA and works to educate on issues of gender, sexuality, and acceptance. The group of thirteen students, faculty advisor Travis Kline, and Assistant Head of School Meg Kenny went to Bennington College to Join a conversation with Steinem. In a wide ranging talk the Medal of Freedom winner spoke about everything from race and gender equality, to being called a “slut” (her response was “thank you”), to Politics (three Vermont senators also joined the talk) both on the national and local level. Kline said that among the many accomplishments from this year “We were able to get gender neutral bathrooms in the school, our group involvement almost tripled, Some of our members helped supplement the wellness curriculum with gender education, and we are now meeting multiple days a week.  We also joined, for the second time, Vermont’s Queer and Allied Youth Summit, put on by Outright VT.”
