The Bulldog mountain bike team capped off their first season with strong finishes in the last two races of the year. The team put up impressive finishes throughout the season and proved to be a force to be reckoned with in a very competitive league full of well-established prep school programs from all over Northern New England. Each race has about 180 riders that span three divisions. Senior captain Scott Mooney finished first in the highest division in Dublin, New Hampshire last week and Abbie Edholm, who was on the podium for every race she competed in, earned second place in the Female C division and won first place during the Championship race in Proctor. Scott finished the season as the overall second ranked senior in Northern New England and Abbie finished the season as the third ranked sophomore. These terrific inaugural season saw podium finishes by 7 different BBA athletes over the course of the season including seniors, Scott Mooney, Paton Marion and Jessica Finnegan, sophomores Abbie Edholm and Carter Hall, and freshmen Ned Thompson and Tucker Kelly. More importantly every member far exceeded their own expectations of how strong and skilled they became. It was an amazing first season and Mr. Mowry, Mr. Wilson, Mr. Nolan encourage any students who like great team camaraderie, adrenaline, speed and sweat and who hate sitting on benches to contact them about a future on the trails.
